Hello Demigods,
It's been about 8 weeks, so time for our regular bi-monthly check in. I'll continue to post these updates every two months as we track our two final rewards towards completion.
So, no big news this month, but work continues on our stretch goal books.

Onyx Path has confirmed the name of the next game in the They Came From… series: They Came from the RPG Anthology! This one’s a little different than the rest though, and the clue’s in the title. This newest They Came From… isn’t another single genre piece, but a compilation of multiple genres, spanning the big screen, the small screen, the stage, and possibly even more besides!
Why “possibly”? Well, when our Kickstarter campaign launches, one of the first things you’ll likely read about is the polls we’ll be running throughout its duration. Every Monday another poll, and every poll adding a new genre to the book. They Came from the RPG Anthology! already includes:
They Came from Cowboy’s Gulch! (Westerns)
They Came from the Mean Streets! (Noir)
They Came from Bridgton Rectory! (Costume Dramas)
They Came from the Interstellar Starship! (Space Opera)
They Came from the Bard’s Quill! (Shakespearean Plays)
But we’ll be adding a further four chapters (at least) to this book from a selection of options you get to vote on!
That’s not all though. They Came From the RPG Anthology! provides two new system offerings for our loyal audiences:
The Quick Play System is a condensed, streamlined, and – as the name implies – quick system you can use for all your games of They Came From! So if you find the current system too complex for your games, you’ll enjoy this slimline version of character creation and the accompanying rules.
The Storypath Ultra System is the updated version of our existing Storypath System present in games such as They Came from Beneath the Sea!, Trinity Continuum, Scion, and Dystopia Rising: Evolution, and They Came From the RPG Anthology! is the first place you’ll find it in print! So if you’re interested in the future of Storypath, this is the campaign to back.

Back in January, I noted that we'd be moving our project check-ins to a bi-monthly schedule. It feels like it's just been a few weeks, but we're already at the end of March, so we're do for another update. No major news, our stretch goal rewards are still slowly trucking along. Let's dig in.

Layout continues on the Demigod Companion, and art direction has begun on the Path to Apotheosis even as the text is finishing up in editing and ready to blast through development. Slowly but surely moving forward.

January '23 - Forums are back!, Updates Going Bi-Monthly

Hello Demigods,
Ah, the first Status Check-in of 2023. It's been a handful of months since our main hardcover books were shipped, and even longer since our PDF went out to backers, but we've still got two final bonus rewards in progress. I'll continue to track these projects and provide you updates, but I'm going to switch the frequency of these updates to every other month, unless I've got any big information (like reward distribution) to share.
Before I dig in to our project tracking, I've got one bit of news from Onyx Path...
The Onyx Path Scion Forums Are Back!
After breaking under the strain of awesome threads, the Onyx Path team have re-vamped, repaired, and re-organized their forums. They work again! Feel free to drop by the Onyx Path Forums or the Scion-specific forum, which is back and working better than ever!

Our Companion supplement has moved into preliminary layout stages, so templates are being built and initial formatting figured out. The Path to Apotheosis book is in editing. I don't have any ETAs for these, but I'll continue to send updates every other month, and get them out to you the moment they're available.

Hello Demigods,
Here we are in the final days of 2022, with just enough time to squeeze in one more monthly update. 2022 wasn't a bad year for Scion Second Edition - our Scion: Demigod books went out in PDF and hardcover form to backers, and we had a successful crowdfunding campaign for Scion: God. I'm hoping 2023 is just as satisfying for Scion fans. With two final Stretch Goal rewards working their way to us, there's lots more Scion fun for the future!
In fact, the future is now... or something. Onyx Path is finishing up 2022 with one final release, a new "Storypath Tasty Bit" for Scion!
BOON COMPANIONS

Think of Hades and you think of his three-headed hound. Imagine Odin and you see his ravens, Chang’e and her rabbit. Beloved animals have been the companions and symbols of Gods and heroes since the dawn of time, and they swoop, pad, and crawl alongside Scions in the modern World. A companion creature can be anything from a fierce ally in battle to a balm for the soul, but it can’t be everything at once.
Scion: Boon Companions is a new Birthright designed for use with Scion: Origin 2nd Edition and Scion: Hero 2nd Edition.

The future is also in the future, with two more Stretch Goal rewards remaining for this campaign. Our Path to Apotheosis scenario book is finishing up in editing, while our companion supplement has finished and moved to the final development stage, where the developers make sure the tone and voice are consistent throughout the product and put together the art notes for the art direction to begin the production phase. Progress!

Nov '22 Update: The End is Nigh for Scion: God, Monthly Check In

Hello Demigods,
I'm sending out our month end update a week early this week for one big reason: the crowdfunding campaign for Scion: God is coming to an end in two days and I wanted to make sure you knew about it and didn't miss out if you wanted to join in.

FInal 48 Hours for Scion: God
So, in addition to my quick review of our final stretch goal projects, let's check in with Book 4 of the Scion Second Edition core story:
Scion: God developer Hiromi Cota shares some thoughts about thebook and campaign
Scion: God takes the Scion experience to the next level, enabling players to explore the pinnacles of power and responsibility. Characters attaining God status have more options than ever. They can create a new Pantheon for their closest friends and allies. They can create (or steal) an Overworld for their new Pantheon, as well as found a religious Creed to shape how their worshippers act down on The World. They can create Incarnations, fragments of their Legend, to tend to their affairs and guide their Scions from children to heroes. With Scion: God, the sky isn’t a limit — it’s just another thing you can shape.
Team Scion has been blown away by the fans’ enthusiasm for our newest game. Even the small updates have gotten been received with massive love and excitement. It’s hard to express just how much it means to us that fans are this enthusiastic and supportive.
We’re nearing the end of this campaign, but there are still a handful of exciting stretch goals that our amazing players can reach. As I’m writing this, we have just unlocked the digital wallpaper and are $4,892 away from an expansion to Divine Inspiration. Divine Inspiration is a toolkit for Storyguides to rapidly build God-tier scenarios and even entire story arcs.
A little past that achievement, we have the fourth expansion to Scion: God Companion, which elaborates on how Dragons and Titanic & Mythos Scions work at God-tier. After our wonderful players unlock this achievement, they’ll be able to make their version of The World stranger and more complicated.
With Scion: God crowdfunding on a different platform, I just wanted to let you know one final time before the project ends. Similar to how we read our Demigod campaign, backing before the end allows you to read the entire draft manuscript before any pledges are processed or payments collected, so if you're on the fence you can check it out and cancel your pledge if it's not for you. Or, even better, you can pledge at a $5 tier and upgrade your pledge in our Pledge Manager at a later date, giving you the opportunity to receive all of the unlocked Stretch Goals that would go with your upgraded pledge tier.
Anyway, enough of the sales pitch! I just wanted to make sure that you didn't miss out if you were interested.
